New £450,000 club and 40 jobs come to Edinburgh

A popular Edinburgh club that was one of the locations for the iconic T2 Trainspotting film will re-open later this month following a £450,000 investment by The Deltic Group.

Cav, in the city’s Tollcross area, will be transformed into ATIK, creating an additional 40 jobs and promises to bring world class entertainment and the ultimate clubbing experience to the city. The club will remain open and continue to operate as normal before the opening night on Friday 23 June, followed by the VIP night featuring DJ and TV presenter Marvin Humes taking to the decks on Saturday 24 June.

The West Tollgate venue will offer three distinct rooms catering for all tastes. The main dance room, ATIK, will showcase the very best in light and sound technology and for retro fans, Vinyl, still with the popular illuminated dance floor, will play pop classics. Curve, a luxurious new room with an intimate atmosphere will feature DJs playing the latest R&B chart hits.

Groups and parties will be catered for with 27 pre-bookable, VIP booths that will provide the ultimate experience, with first class table service delivered by a team of hosts throughout the night.  The club will also be serving up a range of quality drinks including freshly-made cocktails and craft beers.

General manager Mark Cameron said: “Cav has played a huge part of the city’s nightlife and culture for a long time and many people have happy memories of fun times here but it’s time to close the doors as Cav and bring something new to Edinburgh.

“We’re really looking forward to transforming the place, including our infamous T2 toilets, and reopening as ATIK. In the meantime, it will be business as usual at Cav, while work goes on behind the scenes.”

The club is recruiting for 40 new full and part-time positions, from bar staff to hospitality and sales assistants.  “We are looking for people who enjoy life, have a positive attitude and want to be part of our great new venture. Look out for details on social media.” added Mark.
