Aberdeen club The Institute has announced a heady line-up of celebrity guests to welcome students to the city during Freshers’ Week celebrations.
The entertainment gets underway when 90s boy band 5ive perform their hits on Saturday 9 September. Nostalgia will also rule when comedy duo Dick and Dom of ‘Da Bungalow’ fame call in at the Bridge Place venue on Saturday 16 September to meet fans who fondly remember their madcap antics on children’s TV.
Hollyoaks hunk Jamie Lomas will be The Institute’s star guest on Saturday 23 September. The actor who plays bad boy Warren Fox in the Channel 4 soap will be happy to meet students, pose for photographs and sign autographs.
In a post-Freshers scoop, noughties hip hop group Blazin’ Squad will be back in the limelight when they appear at the club on Saturday 30 September.
Deputy manager Iain Moodie said: “We are a student-friendly venue and we wanted to go all out to welcome the thousands of university students who will be coming to Aberdeen for the first time.
“We have put together an amazing line-up of guests and will also be hosting themed nights such as a foam party on Tuesday 19 September to make a memorable start to the new term. We are all about delivering great nights out in a fantastic environment with the city’s biggest dance floor and a choice of music styles to enjoy.
“We have further guest appearances planned throughout the year as we continue to invest in Aberdeen’s premier night out venue.”
The Institute is part of The Deltic Group, the largest dedicated late night operator with 57 venues throughout the UK, employing more than 3,000 people.
