6 March 2019 – The Deltic Group is celebrating National Apprenticeship Week this week (4th– 8th March) with the graduation of its first ever cohort of 15 apprentices, following a 12-month programme. The business will also welcome a further six people onto the programme this week, bringing the total number of Deltic apprentices to 51. Deltic is the UK’s largest operator of premium late night bars and clubs, and employs over 1,800 people aged 16 – 25. In October 2017 Deltic partnered with HIT Training to launch its first ever apprenticeship programme soon after to raise awareness of the longstanding and rewarding career opportunities available in the late night sector, and ensure that young people had access to the training needed to achieve them.
Available to anyone over the age of 16, the apprenticeship programme spans three different apprenticeships – L3 Hospitality Supervisor (Assistant Manager Programme), L4 Hospitality Manager (Deputy Manager Programme) and L3 Team Leader (Sales Manager Programme). As part of the programme, candidates attend quarterly workshops delivered by HIT Training, where they learn about a different aspect of the business. Over the next year, Deltic hopes to recruit upwards of 30 new apprentices. Zoe Paycna-Wood, HR Director at The Deltic Group, commented, “There are so many fantastic career opportunities available in the late night sector – most of our senior team started on the ground and have worked their way up – and so investing in our people is key. These apprenticeship schemes help us equip our talent with the skills they need to continue to progress.”
